Patricia, if the likes of me and ringo would stay in our own country then you would have no KE bar terrace to sit on! You would have to do with a pub in La Linea….what money do you think Sotogrande was built on,and who do you think the port restaurants are aimed at to serve? Certainly not those who order a coffee and take up a table for 2 hrs with it!

The KE bar is full of badly dressed people with no taste for food….the food in Spain is generally rubbish, and this place is just 1 of those venues with tasteless, undercooked and badly presented food that comes cold… oh and an overpriced tag. avoid!

Have been a customer of bar Ke for 20 years. To me it has everything, certainly the position, excellent service, happy staff and I do not consider it expensive, being in the frontline always has a cost. Menu is good offering everything from tapas, baguettes, salads to pasta and steaks etc. I am surprised by the number of negative reviews, in all the years I have been going there I have nothing negative to say. For me, when I have friends and relative visit or I have clients to entertain, bar Ke is my first choice. I think you can judge a restaurant by the length of time they retain the staff and certainly its the same faces all the time at the bar Ke.

I am amazed by all the negative reviews of the Ke Bar. We’ve been there quite a bit over the past couple of years, and really like it. Obviously it has a great location, the food is good, and it has a really good vibe, whether you are there for coffee or late in the day. We have never had slow service, even when it’s been really busy, and when we have taken the kids there the staff have been brilliant with them. Can’t understand all the grumbles.

Very very nice location, which keeps customers keep. Food is average and quite unreasonably priced. Service is actually quite decent when they are busy. I have found more recently that the manager there does make an effort. Drinks are pricey and there is a cover charge for stale bread. On the whole will go there when I am bringing visitors who want to enjoy the weather.

Went by to meet a friend and remembered why we have not been there in months. Terrible service and waiters with attitude. Overpriced and for those that want to be seen only. Let the touristas have it. It is a shame they do not value repeat business from those that live here year round or they would not be so dead in the off season. They really need some good management there.

Jeremy, siento decirte que ni trabajo en el KE ni me he equivocado de sitio, sé perfectamente de lo que hablo, soy cliente del KE desde hace 19 años y no solo por su localización, como era tu caso, tengo criterio y me baso en algo más para ser clienta de un sitio. Aún así, ¿No has estado mucho en el Ke últimamente verdad? Estas navidades estaba a reventar, parece que la crisis no le está afectando mucho, de hecho han abierto otro en Pueblo Nuevo!!!

One star only due to location. We were regulars but have decided not to continue to put up with the slow sevice, high prices and bland food just for the location. Hopefully the crisis will force them out and a better establishment will take that location.

Walked round the lagoona and decided to have a coffee at Ke’s. My wife and I sat outside and she smoked 2 cigarettes without anyone coming to enquire whether we wished to order. Got up and retraced our steps to Home Cafe where the coffee is 1.20 and the cakes are to die for.

Great location and reasonable food but the prices are way to high especially for the drinks. A good selection on the menu and the salads are especially good but despite the high prices they still manage to sneak in a cover charge to fleece you of a few more euros. The staff need a good kicking. They all think they are superstars and are too busy laughing and joking between themselves to give good service. Ok for a coffee and toast on a Sunday morning while reading the Sunday papers and saying high to friends. The recession will probably do a lot of good to those that survive making them realise that they need to give good value for money. The Ke bar has had it too good for too long.

Menu to suit everyone, open all hours.
Staff are incredibly professional and have always been really friendly when they’re not frantic in August. Always find us a table when we come in and made the effort to get to know us as we’re “regulars” and live here all year round.
Bit expensive? Yeah, but good food, effecient service and willing to make you pretty much anything you want. Its the middle of Soto puerto and an institution, what do you expect?

Location is the only thing going for K. If you are a poser it is the place to be, I assume since that seems to be the crowd, but the service is strongly lacking and the attitude of the staff is horrid by any standard. A far as value, I will gladly pay for something of quality, but as a year round resident and many terrible visits to K I have yet to find the value in the prices. Give good service and an occasional smile with some decent food and you can charge whatever you want, but charging the prices based only on location and a delusion of grandeur and you lose alot of customers that would support you during the 10 months of the year without the tourist. Unfortunate such a great location is used up my a mediocre, at best, establishment.

I agree that the Ke is a great place for people watching – but the price of the drinks!!! – we had 4 gin and tonics (plus 6 olives) for 28.50 Euros. Ok they were huge measures but that’s not what you want at 8pm.
