Love it! Great to have a place in the neighbourhood that has style and substance. Tempura amazing and the amuse bouche a lovely touch to whet the palate. I live here 70% and it will be a regular destination for me.

I would put up a detailed honest review but I am afraid to be attacked by those that have a differing opinion. I love how Ed attacks Mom for having unruly kids bothering other customers with no proof and missing the fact that there were no other customers according to the post. ASSumptions?
I agree is is good to have other options and is better than most in Soto but honestly that is not saying much.

At last a truly wonderful place has opened in Pueblo Nuevo. The owner of Reflexion has given the village of Pueblo Nuevo a wonderful uplift, bringing elegance and style to the area. A big thank you to the owner.

The food is outstanding, having worked for Prue Leith, who is now a Food Critic (amongst her many credits), I myself have become rather critical about the level of cuisine in our area. In my view Reflexion receives a 10 out of 10. The staff are lovely and sensitive to ones needs. The food and wines are very reasonably priced.

I note a comment from one of the reviews mentioning the cost of the tea.
It is Jing Tea that is being served at Reflexion not just any tea!
I have recently experienced a ferry crossing on an Isle of Wight ferry and they charged £2.15p for a terrible cup of tea! So €2.50 for a pot of Jing Tea is excellent value!

Good luck to the owner of Reflexion and well done.

Absolutely OUTSTANDING in every way. After 10 years of living in Sotogrande it seems civilization has finally arrived! Food to New York/London/Paris standards and superb service. In regards to the comments on the appearance of the staff, I can only say: PATHETIC & SAD. Not only is the staff charming, but also stylish and extremely polite. It´s a shame about the whole “angry anonymous person syndrome” on the internet… terribly vulgar. If staff ever stares at children, perhaps the parents should ask themselves how they´re educating their children. My mother always made sure I behaved in a manner which did not disturb restauarnt goers or staff, had she not, I would´ve probably been stared at as well.

I find it unacceptable that a restaurant review should contain a physical description of the “managers” hair length.
This restaurant/cafe is the best thing that has happened to the Sotogrande food scene for a long long time and let’s hope with consistant support we can make it a success.
The food is excellent, bags of flavour, high quality fresh ingredients, innovative combinations and fabulous presentation. The first time I went with a friend who got called away before the main course arrived – I ate mine and hers. One was duck and the other was beef and they were both excellent. The vegetable Tempura is probably the lightest I’ve ever had.
I don’t eat anything sweet but judging by my guests empty plates I’m led to believe they are very good.
The prices are so reasonable with respect to the quality of the food that I only hope they can be maintained. In fact I find it far more practical to give a lunch there than to do it myself, and I’m a cook!
I look forward to the continued success of this establishment.

I would also like to point out that a comment regarding the hairstyle of the manager has no place in a restaurant review.

nice deco, expensive drinks, tiny food portions, not so fresh salads and empty space.

Review by Kim, May 4, 2010

mmm I just tried it and found food is way too much deco and bad stuff. Won’t be back there.

The breakfast is a little over priced and the portions are modest, but lunch is really good and I like the staff very much, especially the lady that runs the bookshop downstairs. The quality/atmosphere of the place is top notch, congrats to the lady that put this all together as this is not an easy location to make popular and she certainly has. I shall certainly be coming regularly.

A rare delight. Above a beautifully designed bookshop, with some lovely hardbacks, which make great gifts, you will find a real treat; a very well thought out and beautifully designed cafe with absolutely stunning food. I am veggie and eat fish and in this cafe I always have a good selection, not to mention a good wine list (they have cloudy bay and some great french wines) and the deserts…succulent and sweet pineapple with lychee sortbet is a lovely summer desert, but the decadent and delightful cheesecakes, the chocolate mousse by far the best for miles, and…I could go on; desert lovers heaven is all I can say. The menu is updated weekly, so there is always a new surprise. It’s all deliscious! I go weekly for lunch, and regularly for coffee and meetings. And, it is non-smoking which gives it an extra point. They also have champagne and canapes in the early evening for those of us who like the finer things in life. This is a truly exquisite cafe. I’m looking forward to the evening tasting menu!

The place is gorgeous. Book assortment downstairs is not that huge… but well, it is a lost tiny town in Southern Spain…. Food was good and really nice presented, but pastries were not home made and our eggs with salmon came cold to the table, tea was way too expensive, they had a great price for gin & tonic which had raised the last time my husband and I were there…(Limon is better for drinks) Cheap area, good try to make things nice close to “el motor” store… but it is in our way to the kid’s school and close to our Spanish lessons… First do not forget Pueblo Nuevo is not as nice as Puerto deportivo or Alcaidesa. We just had breakfast a couple of times there after dropping kids at school and when this woman popped up the ambiance changed dramatically. She had an odd attitude to us too. On the other hands it seems to be always closed. In my opinion they are not client oriented but deco oriented!

Review by mom, May 1, 2010

Sad soul? I am just sharing how bad someone of the staff made us feel by pointing at us just because we had 2 children!!
Be sure they are a part of my REALLY HAPPY SOUL!!

What’s the point of a nice deco (it is true, they have extremely rare, nice and expensive furniture) if clients cannot enjoy it?

Deco does not say everything about the soul of a place… that’s only money, it does not mean humanity or real style..

Review by OLIVER, April 29, 2010

Well Mom you are a voice in the wilderness your unpleasant review reflects a sad soul. Can’t you see how wonderful it is at last, to have a venue of such taste and quality in Sotogrande.

Disappointing. A strange short haired woman who I realized is the Manager, stared at us in a insulting way because we came with our son and daughter and started gossipping with the waitress. It was EMPTY for lunch so it MIGHT BE THE PLACE TO GO IF YOU DON’T WANT TO BE SEEN) I will have my eggs Benedicte in Terrasana, as usual…

Have just been here for an early lunch and had a delicious eggs benedict. This is the coolest place to eat – the decor is beautiful and the menu varied, although they do stop the great breakfast menu at 1pm.

This is a great new place. I’ve had coffee and lunch here a few times, and the food is excellent. In the mornings it is packed with Soto mums and people having business meetings, (so not the place to go if you don’t want to be seen)and although the coffee could be a bit quicker reaching the table, all the breakfast options are really good, and very reasonably priced. The lunch menu is also excellent – we had lunch there one day, and came back the following one we were so impressed. Great food, very well cooked and presented.
